Tucson, Arizona, 6 July 2016 – Today, Walbro announced a new line of low evaporative emission universal fuel tanks for gasoline and diesel powered equipment. Designed for both heavy duty and extreme duty applications, standard fuel tanks are available in popular five, six, and seven gallon capacities in both black and natural colors. They can be configured with optional accessories such as vent valves, return lines, level senders, roll-over valves, drain valves and other common fuel system components to create a customize fuel system solution.
“Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s) in our industry prefer to use low evaporative emission technologies, but don’t always have the demand to justify a custom fuel tank solution,” states Matthew Riddle, Walbro President and CEO. “Our Universal Tanks provide an affordable way for OEM’s to use best-in-class multilayer fuel tank technology for low and medium volume production. Additionally, there is a trend toward Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) in small engines, and these products make it easier and less costly for customers to transition from carbureted to fuel injected engines,” adds Riddle.
“We are excited to offer a standard line of CARB & EPA compliant fuel tank systems that help our customers reduce their upfront tooling costs and get their products to market fast,” says Christopher Quick, Walbro Senior Vice President, Business Development and Strategy. Quick goes on to say, “these tanks are designed to withstand the toughest applications. In addition to our normal Heavy Duty tank, we are offering Extreme Duty products that have a 40% thicker shell to provide even greater puncture and abrasion resistance.”
