Walbro Engine Management is now offering low permeation, multi layer (“Co-ex”) plastic fuel tank technology to its customers . November of 2005 marked the completion of a Walbro high volume, 6 layer blow molding production facility in Cass City Michigan. With current production capacity for over 1 million fuel tanks Walbro can offer a large variety of fuel tank sizes and shapes from small hedge trimmer fuel tanks (0.15 gallon) up to large riding tractor fuel tanks (15 gallon).

Multilayer blow molded fuel tanks with 6 layer construction utilize an EVOH (Ethyl Vinyl Alcohol) layer that reduces permeation to below 0.05 g/m2/day. Walbro is now producing multilayer fuel tanks that exceed customer performance and durability requirements.
